A Culinary Journey Through Edomae Style Sushi Omakase
Head Chef, Sushi, and co-founder of Kiyomi, Chef Namaizawa brings his passion for Japanese cuisine and over a decade of expertise to Toronto’s vibrant dining scene. After representing Japan on the world badminton circuit and completing university, he arrived in Toronto in 1991 to study English. Inspired by his love for Japan’s diverse culinary traditions, Chef Namaizawa trained under Master Chef Kawasumi in Tokyo in 2010, mastering the art of Edomae Style Sushi Omakase.
In collaboration with Chef Saito, Chef Namaizawa introduced Toronto’s first Tempura Omakase bar, blending tradition and innovation. His dedication to Sushi Omakase is evident in every delicately crafted piece, designed to create a culinary journey with perfectly balanced flavours and textures.
A highlight of his career was serving former Toronto Blue Jays player Yusei Kikuchi, exemplifying his commitment to providing memorable dining experiences. Chef Namaizawa continues to elevate the art of Sushi Omakase in Toronto.
